Social and Affective Neuropsychopharmacology - SANPP lab (Dr. S. L. Kroll)

Maladaptive stress response and poor social interaction are key features of various psychiatric disorders such as stress-related psychopathologies and substance use disorder. The SANPP lab investigates neurobiological and psychological underpinnings of individual differences in social and affective processing with pharmacological manipulation to tackle psychiatric conditions. We are particularly interested in identifying individual differences in sensitivity to drug effects on stress response and social interaction, aiming to find novel vulnerability factors and treatment options for substance use disorder. In our studies, we combine behavioral, pharmacological, psychophysiological, and neurobiological approaches with a strong translational focus.
