After graduating L’École Supérieure de Commerce Neuchâtel with major subject in management and computer science in 1986 he started working for IBM Switzerland. During his employment his career evolved from sales support administrator to an engineer of a Business Data Warehouse and further to an IT System specialist.

He left IBM in 1998 for a self-employment in the areas of IT consulting and software development. In 2001 he was hired by the professorship for plant biotechnology at ETH Zurich as IT Specialist supporting the researchers in all areas of computer science. He contributed to many research projects by managing large datasets, developing software, tools and web interfaces for data analysis.

Seeking for new challenges he left ETH Zurich in 2018 for a further education at Berne University of Applied Sciences (CAS Application development with JavaScript and HTML5) and a temporary part time job as a technical project leader in the Open Science Team of the University Library Berne. Since 2019 he is the IT responsible research at the Department of Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy.
