Agnes Hanßen completed her Bachelor's degree in Biology and Master's degree in Neuroscience at the Carl-von-Ossietzky University in Oldenburg, Germany. For her master's thesis, she collaborated with the National Institute of Mental Health in Czechia, where she analyzed data of a novel speech-based mismatch negativity paradigm including data from healthy participants under the influence of psilocybin. She is broadly interested in drug research, with a particular focus on psychedelics and their potential use in the treatment of mental disorders. She is currently involved in research investigating the effects of ketamine and neurofeedback training as an approach to treating alcohol use disorder.
