I am a psychiatrist, sports psychiatrist and neurologist as well as head of the Clinic for Depression and Anxiety at the Muensingen Psychiatric Centre (Canton of Bern, Switzerland). Clinically, I specialise in the sports psychiatric and sports psychotherapeutic treatment of elite athletes.

My research interests include the systematic and empirical development of sports psychiatry as a speciality as well as mental health and psychiatric disorders in competitive and elite sports.

As editor-in-chief of Sports Psychiatry – Journal of Sports and Exercise Psychiatry, board member of the ISSP, chairman of the ISSP Scientific Committee and board member of the Swiss Society for Sports Psychiatry, I contribute to the further development of the field at international and national level.
