The group offers a “cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural space for bidirectional critical interrogation of both biomedicine (…) and the humanities (…)” (Kristeva et al. 2018:56). Its research applies conceptual and empirical approaches from the humanities and (qualitative) social sciences to investigate questions of psychopathology, nosology, ethics, commuication and illness experience. In close collaboration with linguists, it especially explores various aspects of (spoken) language and verbal interaction in mental health.
Further, the group is instrumental in implementing user involvement in research and clinical ethics support at the Psychiatric Hospital.
