Klemens Egger is a neuroscientist, holding a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (TU Munich) and a master’s degree in Biomedical Neuroscience (TU Munich). During his master’s thesis he worked on a phase II clinical trial at the University Hospital of Psychiatry Zurich evaluating the efficacy of psilocybin-assisted treatment in depression. For his PhD studies, he is currently working on neurobehavioral experiments with fMRI testing the effects of pharmahuasca on compassion and empathy in trained meditators. Additionally, he is designing a novel task to evaluate if DMT can enhance the felt sense of aliveness which is commonly reported among users of ayahuasca.
