Laura is excited to begin her journey into the fascinating world of research as a doctoral student in human medicine at the University of Zurich. Afterward, she will gain clinical experience as a resident physician. As part of her dissertation, she is investigating the heterogeneity among individuals diagnosed with PTSD. Using modern statistical methods, she analyzes the various theoretically possible combinations of PTSD symptoms and their frequency in clinical practice. The aim of the research is to deepen the understanding of the diverse manifestations of PTSD – from prototypical to rare forms – and to create a foundation for discussion to optimize diagnostic criteria and, subsequently, individually tailored therapeutic approaches.
