21.06.2021Clinical Research Priority Program grant for Prof. Birgit Kleim and Prof. Boris Quednow

Prof. Birgit Kleim and Prof. Boris Quednow have been awarded with a 3-year grant of the Clinical Research Priority Program (CRPP) of the University of Zurich (UZH) for their project "Targeting common synaptic pathways in trauma-related disorders and addiction (CRPP Synapse, Trauma & Addiction; funded by UMZH with 1,527,000 CHF)". Co-applicants are Prof. Steven Brown and  Prof. Shiva Tyagarajan from UZH Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology. PD Dr Marcus Herdener (ZAE, KPPP) will be the clinical collaborator.  The new CRPP project will investigate shared key similarities of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and substance use disorders from a translational perspective. Underlying learning and memory mechanisms will be mechanistically investigated and modulated using novel pharmacological agents.
